Who Benefits from Home Modification?

Home modification is for everybody! I can’t emphasize this enough. While aging in place is important and a growing concern for a majority of our population, there are many other folks who will benefit from home modifications.

Folks who will benefit from home modifications:

  • Adult children who want to simplify care for their aging parents and move them into their home.
  1. Home and Able helps everyone to understand each parties’ needs and goals and facilitates a collaborative floor plan to create space for the folks moving into an established home.
  • Those who have been diagnosed with a chronic or progressive disease
  1. Setting your home up sooner rather than later, can alleviate symptoms of the disease, promote independence, reduce fall risk and empower the individual to live fully despite their disease diagnosis.

  1. There are many reasons to want to set your home up to allow for as many people as possible, at as many levels of function as possible, to use your home. Many other countries build with universal design elements in a forward thinking and inclusive manner. The idea is to create accessibility for everybody.
